🕷️My trip to Sabah

My trip to Sabah

During Chinese New Year🧧,my parents and I visited Sabah, also known as “the Land Below the Wind”. Our first destination at Sabah was Kota Kinabalu(KK). We didn’t do much in KK, because we just enjoyed some seafood, watch the sunset and went shopping.

So after KK, we went to Pulau Mantanani (Mantanani Island, which consists of two islands, Mantanani Besar and Mantanani Kecil). We had to go on a boat ride which lasted for 45 minutes. In Mantanani Island (we went to the big one), we heard a briefing and put our luggage   in our lodge before having lunch at a canteen. While we were waiting for our food, my father played beach volleyball with a bunch of other guys. Their game entertained us as we were bored waiting for our food.

After lunch, I built a pyramid out of sand in the midst of boredom. Time passed very fast and before I knew it, the sun was going to set. So we took some beautiful pictures and rested after dinner. The next morning, I had some delicious breakfast at the canteen before wandering around near my pyramid. When I went back to the canteen, my father was talking with a German couple 🇩🇪. My mother and I joined them as we chatted heartily. Soon, our boat arrived to take us back to mainland. We bid farewell and continued our journey.

We then went to Karambunai and stayed in a resort for two nights. In Karambunai, we enjoyed the view of the beach and also grabbed the chance to spot some monitor lizards swimming gracefully (if that is the way how they swim) in a pond with many lotuses. We then walked around the resort before buying some snacks to eat during our journey to Kundasang. Not long after, the sun set and yup, pictures of it again. Before that, I went swimming in the pool and playing by the beach. We had dinner at an Italian restaurant before heading to bed.

Next morning, my father and I went to a famous golf course in the resort. The scenery there was very beautiful and the surrounding was very serene. I helped to drive the golf buggy while my father played golf. I played too, just because my father wanted to take pictures of me. After a long afternoon, we embarked on our journey to Kundasang. We stayed at a farm stay in Kundasang. Kundasang was very serene and you could even see Mount Kinabalu in a distance. Wait, I forgot to mention that in the beginning of our trip, there were many Chinese and Koreans. But right here, I didn’t see them much. We then set up a tent on a clear field near the farmstay.

On the next day, we visited Desa Dairy Farm. In the farm, we bought some milk and enjoyed some gelato on a bench. We then went to look at the cows. There were calves and kids(the goats not the humans) that could be fed, but unfortunately, we did not feed them because it was too crowded. We took one last picture of the farm before heading to Mount Kinabalu park. We saw  a breathtaking scenery of the hills surrounding Mount Kinabalu(we didn’t see the mountain as it was covered with clouds). At an observation deck, we saw a bunch of squirrels 🐿 running and eating peanuts on the railing. We fed them with peanuts and took cute pictures of them.

After lunch, we went back and I rested in the tent before taking wonderful pictures around the farmstay. After dinner, we took some pictures of nighttime Kundasang and the night sky filled with stars. I even saw Orion. On our second last day in Sabah, we returned to KK. Halfway through the journey, we visited a very clear river where I lost my father’s slippers😜. We then checked into a 5 star hotel.

We went swimming in the afternoon and the pool was filled with 85% of Koreans(that’s a lot!). We ate seafood for dinner and I looked back at my pictures while my parents went for a massage. We sat at a golf course the next morning before going shopping. In the shopping complex, I also sharpened my archery skill with my father while my mother just watched. We had our lunch there before turning to the airport to go home. My trip to Sabah was  unforgettable.

P.S.: Please tell me the character you see in the background. HINT he is a Japanese warrior. Plus, tell me how many pictures he is in.
